Greetings from Children of Promise.
We want to introduce you to an exciting new program at Children of Promise. Would you like to double or triple your annual donation to Children of Promise – at no cost to you? You may be able to do that through our matching gifts program.
Thousands of companies will match employee’s (or retiree’s) gifts to qualified nonprofit organizations each year. Examples of companies that have done so with Children of Promise recently include Pfizer, ExxonMobil, Wachovia, Bank of America, Microsoft, and St. Paul’s Companies, Inc.
We want all of our sponsors and friends to know about this possibility. It’s really very simple. The steps are quick and easy:
1. Check with your personnel department or human resources office to see if your employing company (or the company from which you retired) has a matching gifts program.
2. If so, request a matching gifts form. Complete the form, following the instructions, and send, along with your donation, to: Children of Promise, P. O. Box 2316, Anderson, IN 46018
3. We will complete the appropriate portion of the matching gift form, mail it back to your employer, and notify you when the matching gift arrives.
You may have received an attachment with a list of companies that have recently provided matching gifts to other child sponsorship and relief organizations. I’m confident they would be open to including Children of Promise as well!
If your company has not matched a gift with Children of Promise in the past, please ask your company’s matching gifts coordinator to consider Children of Promise as a charitable organization for its matching gifts program. He/she may request the following information. Please feel free to share it with him/her:
Children of Promise is a not-for-profit organization recognized as tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations to Children of Promise are tax-deductible under section 170 of the code. Since 1992, Children of Promise has existed to assist in the development of the spiritual, physical, educational, emotional, and social lives of children in need through local ministries of the Church of God outside the United States.
The goals of Children of Promise are:

2. To enable them to become productive, committed Christian leaders and participants in their local communities, churches, and nations; and
3. To improve their qualities of life through improved health, nutrition, and education as a result of direct benefits of food, schooling, and health care.
